How has the Group invested in environmental preservation?
For a group whose métiers are intrinsically linked to nature, respecting the environment is a duty, but also an asset for the future. It requires a collective involvement, which is echoed by more than 20 years of commitment.
Since 2001, LVMH has adhered to an Environmental Charter, signed by Bernard Arnault, the aim of which is to mobilize all Group employees. What are its principles? To seek out high environmental performance, incite collective commitment, organize risk prevention, and encourage involvement beyond the company itself. This commitment was renewed in 2003 with the Group’s adhesion to the United Nations Global Compact, launched by Kofi Annan.
How is the follow-up of the LVMH environmental policy organized?
The Environment Department follows-up closely at a central level and organizes a commission that brings together the environmental correspondents from each House quarterly. In addition, the Group is involved in many different environmental authorities, both in France and Europe.

What actions have been implemented by the Group’s Environment Department?
Wishing to align itself with global best practices, the LVMH Environment Department offers a wide range of tools to the Houses: regulatory and technical intelligence, creation of management tools, risk prevention, awareness-training, audit organization and reporting management. Working groups meet regularly to analyze the environmental impacts of each métier, set improvement objectives and design suitable action plans.
Finally, environmental reporting results (certified by external auditors), as well as best environmental practices, are presented each year in the environment report.
Do Group Houses implement targeted environmental actions?
Each House builds its own environmental management system with the support of the LVMH Environment Department. To date, several of them have chosen ISO 14001 certification, such as Hennessy, Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and more recently, Guerlain.
Every year, since 2014, Houses must include the LIFE program into their strategic plan specifying an action plan and objectives around 3 to 4 from the 9 LIFE issues.
